Places off Tung Lung Street 3
The other end of this passageway was the east bound one. It led us to Russel Street . This was the busiest street that I have ever seen in my life. On the north side of Russel Street was a row of 4-story buildings from one end to the other. Most of the ground floors were shops (not all, some, but just a few were for residential). There were lots of lots grocery shops 雜貨舖selling rice, cooking oil, can food soy sauce, anyway daily necessities. In those days, there was no such thing as a tea café 茶餐廳, but we had a few café 冰室, 餐室 in this street. At the end facing Canal Road East , there was a small Chinese herbal shop 山草藥舖. It sold fresh Chinese herbs but not dry ones. It also sold bitter tea and five flower tea. There were a few Tofu work shops. Other than buying Tofu and related products, we could sit in and ordered a glass of soya milk with pan fry 3 treasures, 豆漿 和 煎釀三寶.
The eastern side of the street… we talk it tomorrow.
